Privacy policy

RolePacket ("we", "us") is a job-search tool operated from Florida, United States. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.

What we collect

• Account data: your email address, name and profile photo from Google if you sign in with Google, or your email address alone if you use an email link.
• Profile data you give us: your resume, target titles, compensation preferences, locations, exclusions, stories, answers to interview questions and writing preferences.
• Roles and packets: job postings you paste or that our feed finds for you, fit scores, and the documents we generate for you.
• Usage data: which features you use, model calls made on your behalf (counts and cost, not the content), and standard server logs (IP address, browser, time) kept for 30 days for security.
• Payment data: handled by Stripe. We never see your card number. We store your Stripe customer ID and plan.

How we use it

To do the job you signed up for: score postings against your profile, build your packets, run your feed, send you the emails you asked for (sign-in links, digests, receipts), and keep the service working. We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it to train models.

Who sees it

Your profile and postings are sent to the AI providers we use to generate documents and scores (currently Google and Anthropic) under their API terms, which do not permit them to train on your data. Emails are sent through Resend. Payments go through Stripe. Our servers are hosted at DigitalOcean in the United States. Each of these processors sees only what is needed for its task.

How long we keep it

For as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile, roles, packets and generated documents are deleted within 24 hours. Server logs expire within 30 days. Stripe retains invoices as the law requires.

Cookies

We use one session cookie to keep you signed in and one short-lived cookie to remember an invite code. No tracking or advertising cookies, which is why there is no cookie banner.

Your rights

You can export or delete everything from the Account page, or by emailing [email protected]. If you are in the EU, UK or California, the rights those laws give you (access, correction, deletion, portability, objection) apply, and the same address is how to exercise them. We respond within 30 days.

Children

RolePacket is for people of working age. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we email you before it takes effect.
